The girl was born in 1929, in Belgium. Audrey had a difficult childhood. At the age of six, she went through a divorce of parents and moved with her mother to the Netherlands. In addition to her acting career, Audrey was an ambassador for UNICEF and traveled to more than 20 countries. She was active in humanitarian aid. The actress died in 1993, at the age of 64, from a tumor in her colon.
